Hydroactive gel typically appears as particles in a wafer dressing. That gel, when it comes into contact with the wound, forms a gel-like environment over the wound that keeps it from creating or spreading bacteria. Convatec took one step further by creating the DuoDERM Hydroactive Gel in a sterile, easy-to-use tube. The hydroactive gel does the same as a hydrocolloid dressing, going deep into the wound to help speed up the healing process. Its sterile tube assures you a safe, clean application over the wound, preventing bacteria from forming or spreading. Best of all, there won't be any need to wear a bulky dressing of any type; simply apply and cover.
